Been following this one for a few weeks. Nothing like a good vigilante justice movie!! Charles Bronson would be proud!

Wow, looks very very good. Kinda reminds me of my sister... seriously. About 4 days ago she and my 17 year old son went into a convenience store and actually disrupted a burglary in progress. Pretty freaky and scary!!! I'm going to have to tell her them to watch Death Sentence, too. Thank [insert the powers that be that you believe in] they made it out intact. These things happen every day, a scary world. Be nice to see some serious vigilante action. If only it happened more in RL.

we have to be civalized...
i really like seeing those vids of criminals in court getting f'ed up by the family of the victim...
recently a police officer was shot and ran over, a man and his son were passing by. the man got the officers gun, asked the man to give up, he didnt so he killed the man while his son called for backup. instant justice right there.
anyway.. i really want to see this flick. i hope it will be good. I enjoy bacons work for the most part and i like the taxi driver look. looks to be a solid revenge action film. i hope it doesnt let down.

After reading soooooo much bad sh*t about Halloween, I think I'm definitely gonna go see this one on Monday instead. Then again, Balls of Fury is playing as well and I certainly wouldn't mind seeing Superbad again. Not sure which one of those I'll get to then, but I'm pretty sure Halloween is off my list now. Oh well...

saw it today. very very good flick. didnt pull any punches when it came to who was safe and who wasnt. very ver good revenge flick. prefer it over death wish any day.
Kevin Bacon was great in this and the gun battles were very well done. a tad too much CG blood but thats my main gripe. good flick which doesnt deserve this poor outcome.. shouldnt have put it out against halloween.

Nope. Ended up seeing Balls of Fury a couple of days ago. The wife and I are off together this weekend, though, so I'm gonna try to talk her into it. Just one question ZK...Do any animals get hurt in the movie? Kind of a silly question I know, but the wife will sometimes wanna walk out of movies with that type stuff in them and with her being pregnant and overly sensitive about things right now, it would be a bad time to see such a thing. BTW, Balls of Fury was freakin' hilarious!!!!

nope none at all. I dont remember an animal being in this actually. if shes over sensitive then maybe you shouldnt take her casue my GF didnt like it casue it was "too sad".
I caught this on the same weekend I saw Halloween and Art of War. It was the better of the three movies.

Unfortunately I never got to see this one. The wife just wasn't into the idea. Kinda weird how sometimes Kevin Bacon's movies get overshadowed by others with similar themes. The Sixth Sense was such a huge sensation when it came out that nobody really noticed Stir of Echoes which was FAR superior. Now all of a sudden Death Sentence is being overshadowed by Jodi Foster's "The Brave One". Oh well...Kevin ain't hurtin' for cash at least! :)

Stir of Echoes was waaay better then The Sixth Sense and more realistic. I'd believe a kid who said his house was haunted by a angry dead Girl who was murdered then one who said he could talk to the dead. Actually Stir Of Echos was originally a short story written by Richard Matheson who's famous on this site for writing I am Legend.

Sweet!! I hadn't seen a commercial for it, so it kinda fell off my radar! I'm heading over to Netflix right now to put this at the top of my queue! I honestly tried like hell to get out to the theater for this one, but it just wasn't in the cards for some reason.

Ha!! I do believe it was the wife that didn't want to see this one, if memory serves me correctly!! Guess she's gonna be real unhappy next week when she comes home and finds it in the mailbox!
It's a bloody good flick. For me it edges out The Brave One purely because the ending to that movie was incredibly cheap.

Didn't catch The Brave One either, but I'm up for it as well. I can go ahead and guess, though, that I'll like Death Sentence better just because I'm not much of a Jodi Foster fan. Kevin Bacon really blew me away with his performance in Murder in the First and he definitely hit a home run with Stir of Echoes, so I'm apt to see pretty much any drama or horror with him in it.
Both are great movies, don't dismiss The Brave One just because of Foster; it is bloody brutal in places. But yes Death Sentence edges it for me because of Bacon.
Oh, and just for plugs sake, the site I write for has just scored an interview with Death Sentence director James Wan:)
