DOTD 78 alt ending

I herd they did another ending to this film; does any one know where i can find it or the screen play, i would loved to see what it was like. I think peter shoots him self, and fran is supposed to kill here self with the proppela blades on the choper( excuse me if this has been said before):)p.s i just realised i think i put this in the wrong thread..doh

Apparently it was filmed....I wonder if it's sitting around somewhere, untouched for 30 years. It'd be great to see it one day.

You can read the screenplay, they have it at www.script-o-rama.com and it includes the original downbeat ending. It's very depressing and I'm glad Romero decided to change it, leaving just the tiniest glint of hope for the survivors.

Piecing together soundbites from interviews with both Savini and Romero over the years, it would seem that some test footage was shot for the original ending, but it was never filmed in its entirety and what was shot has long since been lost/disposed of.

There were pictures of the alternative ending test footage on Tom Savini's website. The site seems to have been re-done and I can not find the pictures anymore.
