What did people say to you when they found out about your secret lust for the undead? I usually got :loon:

we don't "lust for the undead" merely their slaughter...and the occasional chuckle at the hapless victim being devoured

Can I borrow some of your zombie movies? A lot of people who are not into zombie, or horror movies such as we, still like a good zombie movie. I meet a lot of people who loved Night of the Living Dead 1968.

A lot of dumb questions and people constantly talking about zombies whenever I was around. Ugh!

Usually they just say ......."okay then" ...... and change the subject, unless they're horror fans.

My interest in all things zombie (zombie stuff in general, not this site) has never been so overwhelming as to be a cause for concern for my friends/co-workers.

Yeah. I think lust is a poor choice of words. Don't use it here and I think there's already a thread for this anyway?

My wife keeps telling me that zombies aren't real. We did watch Night of the Living Dead on our second date, she asked a few questions, but is still not convinced that they are real. I mostly talk about zombies to freak out people like my sister.

My best friend and I get into an arugement everytime the zombie topic is brought up. Mostly over which is the best zom movie or if "Night of The Comet" sucked or not.
Its a battle thats been going on since we met in 1993, so, thank you Zombie movies for giving me and my best friend something to keep our love/hate friendship based on.

Other people just walk away quietly.

Well, my friends seemed pretty alright about my interest in zombies

but as far as "lusting" goes, i think they would just tell me to double up

My co-workers already think I'm weird, so when they see zombies on my screensaver, they just shrug it off.

My mom, sister, son, & friends are into zombies so it's perfect.

My wife doesn't like 'em & she hates that my son & I are always discussing survival tactics from The Zombie Survival Guide; so I guess she has to go!

Well, my friends are ok with it, although they don't like zombies themselves..

Usually it results in either an akward silence or some one saying " yea, sure... Look at me. I'm a zombie! *moan*."

Bastards.

Not a lot really. The non-movie buffs tend to say something along the lines of "Ohh, Shaun of the Dead was the scariest movie I've ever seen!" or make some joke about "Braaaains!" in an attempt to sound like they know what they are talking about. The people who know about movies in general, but are not necessarily horror geeks, will talk about how the original Dawn of the Dead was better, or how they thought Land of the Dead was fun. As for the few zombie nutters I've met... well, just look around here!

make some joke about "Braaaains!"

:x I hate that when people make jokes like that! I ask them, " Why would a zombie eat just the brain and leave the whole tasty torso behind? " :loon:

Yeah... Don't they know how hard it is to bite into a skull? You're lucky if you don't knock your teeth out before you get a chance to taste that spicy brain matter!

I usually get a nervous smile/laugh  where they're not sure if I'm kidding or not. It amuses me.

I don't bring it up that often. People already think that I'll shoot someone someday, so mentioning zombies might just end me up in a strait jacket.

I get teased about it a lot. When I try to discuss it with certain people the conversastion inevitably turns to their views that zomies suck in every way and me trying to explain how zombies and zombie movies work. It kinda REALLY ANNOYS ME! Of course, there are those who understand, and even discuss zombie survival with me. That makes me happy :)

Well the initial response was not the best possible. But eventually I managed to get the Zombie horror virus to spread into 3 other people who I knew quite well.

Although I remain the only person who actually buys any of the DVDs of the Zombie movies that I know of.
