I'm currently working on a short film about the kind of zombies I think we don't see to much of nowadays. The project origanlly began as the making of a music video for a local band. But they split up when I had filmed half the video or so. So I decided to try and stitch the footage together to a short film instead.
There isn't much dialoge and the plot is quite simple; A bunch of corpses from an abonded graveyard in the woods rise from their graves and break into a cabin. The reisdent must take out the intruders before they get him.
Here's some pics of the handsome fellas you're gonna meet in the film:

Nice! Now this is what I like to see when I read about another indie zombie film being made. Someone putting alot of effort into their zombies. Good job! And best of luck with it. It looks like you have a Burial Ground vibe going there.

Thanks, the make up and costumes of the zombies were some of the main priorities in this film. Just trying to do my part to get some variation from the recently deceased "skin condition zombies" that we've seen in almost every recent film.
And I think the main influence is coming more from movies like Creepshow or ROTLD.

Yeah, I was going for a retro thing here. Was intended to be more like the 80's though but whatever.
Anyone else wanna gimme a response on this video?

It was good and I agree with what your saying we need more retro horror and zombie films I mean its not like I don't like the current ones its just that the current ones are all heavy metal and gore whereas the old ones had amazing atmospheric music and things like that. I'm looking forward to the next part keep it up.

Thanks! Yeah, I try to create scary and intense moments with music and creepy atmosphere, not bucketloads of gore. Kinda what Tom Savini did in the NOTLD remake. But don't get me wrong, a lotta my favorite movies have loads of gore (Friday the 13th, Braindead, Planet Terror, Dawn of the dead etc)

I liked it...It isn't easy doing an interesting 6 minutes without speaking. I liked the zombies though I thought you showed them too much. The white teeth and bones bothered me...could you dirty them up a bit?
I think you could cut it down by atleast a minute.
But it did keep my attention and that ain't easy...that means it is a good thing.
Good luck... I hope we get to see what happens next.

Good work!
I thought the shot set up/editing was done well. I see what you were going for and I don't think there was much that needed to be cut out.
I've been to some of the old backwoods graveyards and I think you had a very accurate set. Nowadays the set designers want to go bigger, more statuesque. But unless you're in Europe or New Orleans, places such as these, old graveyards weren't like that. Though the whole grave moved as your zombie climbed out. You need to completely bury that sucker! hehe
And on a few of the closeups the masks weren't tight enough, so you could tell the actor was moving his jaw beneath but the mask didn't respond well. This breaks the suspension of disbelief. But I did like the rotting knees coming through the holes in the pants. Good fx there.

Thanks, I think the background music added a lot to the film. I wanted to create a dark and creepy atmosphere for this one. Some of it were taken from some haunted house cds, some were freeware found on the net and other were files I got from a friend of mine. I mixed and edited them all together untill I got a result I was happy with.
