Does anyone remember a film called The Stuff??? I remember seeing it when I was about 11... I don't remember too much about the film except it was something like Killer Yoghurt or something to that effect... not many people I've spoken to remember it...:x

Oh what a fun movie "The Stuff" was. Not only original, but it also had a good sub-text slam at American commercialism. Oh yeah, I remember "The Stuff". Every time my wife opens a jar of that whipped marshmallow stuff it reminds me of the movie. Coolness.

I'm glad someone remembers it... spoke to my sis about it last night... she said it put her off yoghurt for a long time... I reckon I'm gonna have to try and buy it now

Great movie! Be careful if you buy the DVD as there is a crappy Chinese release out there.

I just watched it again about a month ago and for the life of me I can't remember the name of the replacement product. Does anybody remember? It was supposedly only like 10% stuff and 90% filler.

Are you eating it or is it eating you?

The Stuff was a good 80's film if you're looking for people being consumed by a product, taking over their mind, turning them into zombie-like drones. A movie with a message.

Anchor Bay brought it out a number of years ago on DVD. The stuff is a parasite from the earth that looks like Marshmallow Fluff, but moves like the Blob. From Larry Cohen, "It's Alive" series.

It was... The Taste!

Great 80's cheese-fest, just watched it on Netflix about a week ago. I was looking through the horror section and this movie popped up so I thought "What the hell" and clicked 'play'

The Stuff is definetly worth watching.

Spoilers:

I like when the stuff crawls out of a "Stuffie's" mouth, leaving the insides of their mouths rotted and mangled. Then it crawls back in and they slurp it up. Good stuff.

SPOILERS: (edit)
Favorite scenes:

Kid stuck in the milk tank with the Stuff.
The stuff on fire in the room.
Chocolate Chip Charlie.
The commercials.
The kid's supermarket rampage.
The scene with the pet dobermann.
The ending.
When the family tries to force the kid to eat.
The guy from the beginning snow scene, who sees something in the ground and just eats it.
The gas station 'stuffie'.

END SPOILERS

Sometimes slow, but still enjoyable 80's 'horror' film.

A friend of mine asked me about this a few years back when it was out of print. He said he remembered liking it quite a bit and wanted a copy so I tracked one down and gave it to him for his birthday. When it came out on DVD I pikced that up for him as well considering the one I bought him was a previous rental, was the only way to find it at the time, and the DVD I imagined looked better.

I still haven't seen it yet though. I need to bring this one up to him again so we can sit down and watch it...or at least borrow it from him. Sounds like it could be fun.

I own it. Wonderful little B-movie.

I got it off Netflix and watched it today at work. I can't explain why, but I loved this... It wasn't that great, so I can't share it with friends, but maybe someone here understands?

I have some good memories of this one. My mum bought it for me on video when I was a kid (it must have been cheap because with cover art like that I can see no other reason why a mother would willingly buy her 10-year-old son this movie without him even asking for it), and I just ate it up. I loved the survivalist army and the scene with Chocolate Chip Charlie's head freaked me the hell out. I think this film contributed to my love of weird horror.

According to Larry Cohen's commentary track, he wanted an actual product called "The Stuff" to be released to the public along with the movie as a promotional item to eat. No actual "Stuff" inside though, or so he suggested. ;)
