Spooky Zombie Dreams

One of the drawbacks of being a fan of zombie films, is the inevitable horrific zombie dream.

Sometimes it is only a mildly scary dream.....maybe one where I am watching it play out from a distance in the dream, other times I can almost feel myself running from them and I wake up totally freaked out.

Perhaps because I am a realist, but I have no fake ideas of gunning down zombies and being some John Rambo type...mainly because I don't know how to do any of those things! :) So to me, anything involving zombies would frighten me senseless.

Last night's dream was about zombies, but it was very weird in that I was in the dream and in some sort of a room where a group of people were choosing future vacation stuff. And I remember seeing zombies, but not being able to tell if they were real, dangerous zombies, or if it were just a part of a weird dream or actors. It was really, really trippy and in part of the dream, I was trying to look at a screen and choose my dream and all I saw was the murky waters of a lake or an ocean filled with seaweed and just creepy murkiness.

Does anyone else have scary zombie dreams?

I remember one i escaped from prison with this other guy and we robbed a store to get some cash we made our get away from the store but the parking lot it was covered in snow so we crashed into a burm and it turns out that it was a mob front so they wanted revenge so they chased us down i lost track of my friend and they chased me into the ocean so i was cut off so they walk out into the surf and gunn me down (very real i might add) but as i was dying i vowed revenge and as i was on the ocean floor i turned into a aquatic zombie and i started to move up the coast devouring people (also very real) in there oceanfront condos i caught a look of myself in the mirror and my face was ****ed up my lip was all torn open and i was green and rotting but the more people i killed and devoured i became more human so after a while i was almost human again but the i realized ive just gone on a cannibalistic murder spree and im still wanted for escaping from jail so id have to be really careful so i put on a disguise and my lip was still scarred but i was headed to get my vengeance...... then i woke up

I've got you both beat.

About 20 years ago, I got sick. I mean really sick. Surgery sick. Once I finally got discharged from the hospital, I was laid up at home for a few weeks on some pretty heavy-duty painkillers.

I woke up one afternoon really dopey from all the meds. I stumbled over to my bedroom door so I could head downstairs and get something to drink. I opened the door and there, backlit by the sunlight coming through my dad's bedroom window, was a zombie. I could see it. I could smell it. I could hear it. I promptly slammed my door and then passed out.

My dad found me when he got home from work. He said that he had to muscle his way through the door because I was laying up against it. He also said that I woke up swinging.

That little experience left me paranoid for a long time. I knew it was the meds that caused me to hallucinate, but it was so damn real. A few years later, when I started seeing real corpses, it took months for me to shake off the feeling that they were going to get off the gurneys and start pursuing me down the hospital hallways.

Those fever dreams are SO real!!!! i once way back got food poisoning and started hallucinating and i was dead certain that the sun was completely absorbed by a giant machine and that we had like 6 minutes to live my dad said he talked to me and i was just rambling like a maniac i was so freaked out and in a panic that we were all about to die. i ended up outside in my underwear just pacing around because i was boiling on the inside!

to this day i can still remember exactly what the machine looks like.

My dreams are very rarely about zombies (I think I only got them when I first discovered zombie movies). I think the only one I remember was when I was in a dirty alley, a zombie was lumbering around, and a woman gave him a box of crayons before running away crying. To this day I don't know what the hell that dream meant. Maybe I was eating some bad popcorn.:drool:

I'm Jealous :) . I had a Zombie dream once. Unfortunaely all I remember is being chased and waking up. My heart was racing. I took a moment to collect myself and thought to myself"Dam, its over."

I got one, well normally my nightmares have Freddy in them (yes Freddy Krueger) and he was in this one. I was walking through a dark corridor and there was a light at the end of it, and standing in front of it was Freddy, he started laughing and chasing me but as soon as I turned around, the lights came on and a zed was right in my face and was screaming (I am talking little girl creepy chiller scream, even though that he was a grown man zombie) it took me a while to collect my self, it felt like I had watched a screamer video.

Everytime I dream of zombies/other undead, it makes my day(week, even month). They're very inspirational and satisfactory, probably due to fact that I'm
killing many of them easy :D

This is a very ****ed up dream! So I am warning you now.. :drool:


I was working ( Wal-Mart ) and I get the call that zombies are making their way into the store, I than find myself atthe wannabe cafeteria and there is a pile of zombies waiting to be burnt. I than find myself by the layaway bathrooms and down towards the fabrics department something strange happens... A huge crack appears in the wall and a wave of what I think is milk rages towards me and I duck into the layaway bathrooms only to encounter a zombie. I than remember that the zombies are able to turn you by just touching you. A tiny hammer appears in my hand and I begin to fend off the zombie. I start to scream and I wake up hearing the echo of my screams. :scare:

The only other dream I had was after watching those bullshit Night of the Living Dead series where the zombies eat brains! :x My wife at the time was a zombie and we were in the car together and I am fighting for my life and I am forced to kill her. :-( I than wake up and she comes from work and I am watching her for about an hour or so, looking for the classic signs of her turning!

I've had some scary zombie dreams and you're environment before you go to sleep can make it worse. I was admitted into hospital late in the evening after having a minor accident, they put me in a ward in the basement - for new admissions when they're pretty full, it was not too far from where they keep their corpses.... I just kept thinking how it looked like Res Evil 2 (computer game) and when I fell asleep I dreamt that the hospital was overrun by zombies and I had locked myself in the toilet to hide from them as I wasn't able to get too far by myself... i woke up screaming just as they were kicking the door down

I use to have zombie dreams a lot more when I was a kid, I hardly ever have a zed dream nowadays, anyway, one of the most vivd ones had me crapping my pants....Imagine New York city, completly deserted, kinda like that scene in the devils advocate where keanue reeves character is walking down the middle onf the street surrounded by skyscrapers and not a person in sight, well this was how my dream was...no people, no cars, just the pavement, street signs and towering buildings all around me. It was sunset and, I could see a mob of people a few blocks ahead of me turning the corner towards me, they were all walking and stumbling about and I realized what they were....I turned to run away but mobs of them were coming around every corner as far as I could see...so I ran to the building directly in front of me...it was the lobby of some sort of big business, the walls were made of glass, I got to the door, pulled the handle and it was locked...I started to hear their moans and cries getting closer so i grabbed a cinder block and chucked it throught the glass of the front doors, it seemed they were just within reach of me when I ran into the building...I found some stairs and started running up, but as hard as tried I couldnt run, it was like i was running in slow mo...I remember looking a couple floors down and seeing the door to the stairs burst open and hordes of them spilling thru, and they were all looking right at me...I couldnt run so i was walking up, trying to go faster but I couldnt...every floor i passed it seemed they were gaining on me, every door I tried on the way up was locked, I was really starting to wig out when I finally reached the roof...I got out, and for some reason there were desks and fridges and just random furniture a top the roof, so I started pushing it against the door, more and more unit i had 20 feet worth of random crap piled against the door...I got to the edge of the roof and I was 20 floors up, as i looked down all I could see was zombies everywhere and they were all going into the building I was in. i looked back at the door and it was shaking against the barricade, I woke up when the first zombie peeked out of the the couple inches the door had opened....I remember my teeth were chattering and was covered in sweat...i only thought teeth chattering happened in cartoons, guess not when your scared shitless like I was...

I had another zombie nightmare last night... could have something to do with the fact that I watched LOTD before I went to sleep but anyway I dreamt that my local library was the refuge area, we have shutters on the window etc here and a cafe plus its all linked to the council building and its not a bad place (free internet etc) anyway, one idiot decided to check outside for any zombies and left a door unattended (it is on the other end of the building) thus letting them in and it creating mass chaos.... I don't remember much else cos I woke up soon after and am here in the library now making the most of the free internet...

I had one this morning.

It took place in a large college or governement building with that really cool 1930s-era architecture. I was with a group of a few hundred survivors. We were being herded to safety up one of those long zig-zag wheelchair ramps. Sort of like going through a cattle chute. The zombies were chasing us up the ramp and munching on the people who were in the tail of the line.

What was left of the survivors got inside what looked like a large auditorium and we locked the door from the inside while government-types were trying to calm us and fortify the main door. I backed over to the opposite wall near the windows. We waited for the zombies to start clawing at the door, but nothing happened. There was just silence. Just as people started murmuring "where are they?", the back doors of the auditorium burst open and there was a flood of zombies into the room. Since the main door was locked, nobody was able to get out.

I jumped out of one of the windows and landed on the roof of an elevated walkway. I ran across it until I got to one of the other buildings on the campus. I went to the far side, climbed in through a second-floor window and hid in a closet.

I had one the other night. I was in the TCM house although it was all boarded up from the outside. There were zombies in there with me, running ones I might add. I was running around the house looking for something to fend them off with when I ran into a bedroom and found a baseball bat and the only window that wasn't boarded up. I smashed through the window and climbed out onto a small roof that was underneath it. I dropped down onto the ground and ran to the road.

I started to run along the straight endless road, there was a pine forest on my left and I glanced into it. I saw hundreds of zombies running towards the road, towards me. The NOTLD house appeared on my right ontop of a hill, I ran towards it and broke in.

Then I woke up.

spooky dreams guys...I really wish I'd have more...I dont remember half the dreams i have but everytime its a zombie one, i try my hardest to remember it.

I had my first ever zombie dream when I was sick a few weeks ago. It wasn't anything really special...

It started at some kind of town hall with lots of people. Zombies busted in the front door, so everyone ran out the back door. Behind the hall theres a huge open field, miles into the distance, where there's faint outlines of a couple of mountains visible. There's a few sparesly located trees every now and then... and (here's the weird part)... the entire field is covered with one gigantic maze made out of metal meshed fence topped with barbed wire.
So I'm running through this maze with people everywhere getting picked off by zombies after getting cornered, all clearly visible through the fencing.
I make it pretty close to the end, but with the zombies right on my tail hit a dead end. Luckily there just happens to be a tree on the other side of the fence where I'm stuck, so i climb the fence, my hands get torn apart by the barbed wire at the top, and then i rip open my side as i push myself over the top just in time. So good and injured, bleeding, I make a leap for the closest tree branch and scale the tree, jump off the tree to the outside of the maze, and start running like hell across the fields to make it as far from it as possible before the zombies find their way out and come after me.
That was all, I woke up after that.

I had this one for years after I saw NotD when i was a kid.

- I would always see only one at first and think I could get away and what ever direction I ran there would always be more and of course I'd always end up in a corner with 100 creeping up ready to eat me.

Well this isnt a dream persay it was more of a daydream while walkin...

Today me and my friend were walkin outside at like 10 o clock pm and there is an un finished road and we walked down it and there are like 10 .. 15 foot drops to the gorund off the side so were walkin and i was thinkin how scary it would be if a zombie just like popped out form no where hence where this disccussion happened between me and him so on the way back i was thinkin about this really creappy zombie senario in my day dream where a car is coming and u can see the headlights on trees (BTW i live up in the moutains.. in pa :puke: not so bad but could be better) so while walkin these headlights were on these tree long behold this scene in my dream (deja Vu) and these shadows appeard out of nowhere in front of the headlights and then like this outline of a guy came running down the street and made like the yelling noise from 28 days/ weeks later and me and him ran into this dark house and then i like came to realize that i was dreaming... but some of the events in my dream did happen ( the shadow , outline of the man ,but no like yellin)

last night, I had a dream where I was on top of a block of flats not far from where I live, with a hunting rifle, nailing zeds quite regularly, that was the entire dream, lol

I wouldn't call it a freaky dream but it's the one I remember most out of my "zombie dreams", yes I've had more than one.

I'm at a restaraunt and all I want to do is wash my hair so I go into the bathroom that has a shower in it, don't ask and I lathered up my hair for a quick splash. I get out of the shower and go back into the restaraunt to discover it's being swarmed by zombies.

My art teacher was there for some reason, she always wore an army jacket whenever we painted and she was in the dream.

I went to my grandmother's house way out in the middle of nowhere with my mother and some friends. The zombies attacked the house and a comic book looking zombie came out from the floor and bit my friend Cory. I killed the zombie and peeled Cory away from it and put him on the couch.

At that point the zombies went for their final siege and I woke up. I wish I hadn't, I would've liked to see how that dream ended.

I had one last night where I was in the NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD remake and there were swarms of zombies. Fun dreams I have.

I have zombie dreams alot.. when I say alot I mean one or two every month or every other month...And some times its the same dream but what sucks is I tell my self that 'I know whats gonn happen so change it, don't go in there or find something first' but I can't. One of the worst dreams was when I had tried so hard to get my little baby brother and sister out of harm's way and hidden, then realized there was NO way I could join them before The dead would get to me. I felt like crying in the dream and vividly remember looking at the gun I had some how gotten and pressed it against my head. When I pulled the trigger the dream went black and I woke up in a sweat. That dream is the only time I can think of where I died in a dream.

I'm a fan of zombies going back for a veeeery long time, and I have watched a huge amount of zombie movies as well as read quite a bit of zombie literature, so you can say my dreams are sometimes pretty heavily influenced by them. I can't relate the whole dream, because it happened over 15 years ago, but, when I was pregnant with my son, I was constantly concerned with whether or not I could handle caring for a child. (I was over 30 yrs old at the time, so even us older moms worry about that kinda stuff, LOL!)

Anyway, I had a terrible nightmare once while I was very pregnant that zombies had cornered me and ripped the baby right out of my belly. It was a very vivid dream, and it scared me very much! I woke up in a cold sweat, and I'll never ever forget how real it felt in that moment.

Can't say I've had any proper zombie nightmares.

When mine happen, which is rarely, it's typically about water/drowning, Terminators/in general pursuers (frequently in a mazelike environment) or crocodiles. Especially crocodiles pursuing me in watery mazes.

I have had tons of zombie dreams over the years but tends to have more to do with what I ate late at night than what I last watched on tv or the movies.

Ive had a zombie dream before and it's the only dream that i can remember fully.

I was walking through a massive city (very busy) and then i blinked and in that second the sky was fire red like apocalypse kind of thing and every one was getting torn apart by like 500 or 600 zombies i could here every thing screaming moaning the bones breaking flesh being torn i could smell the zombies also and as soon as a zombie looked at me and was right in my face and about to bite me i woke up it was ALL to real for me:scare:

I had a wicked zombie dream a little less than a week ago.

People were spontaneously turning into zombies, and none of the people I was with in the dream realized it except for me.

My cousin was in it, my ex was in it (unfortunately she did not die), and there was a white cat that I guess was mine that all of a sudden turned into a zombie cat, so I had to beat it to death with a boot.

I generally don't remember my dreams, but this one was very vivid. Might have been caused by an alcohol/tylenol pm tag team...

I felt like crying in the dream and vividly remember looking at the gun I had some how gotten and pressed it against my head. When I pulled the trigger the dream went black and I woke up in a sweat. That dream is the only time I can think of where I died in a dream.

Yeah those are the freakiest i get those every now and then like the falling dreams were you know its the end so you try to make your peace and wake up suddenly with the weirdest feeling its like a fullbody high. Some sort of chemical in your brain just wearing off i think DMT is basically the same chemical when your in REM sleep

I had one last night it was in town and for some reason i was recruited for this dangerous mission so i was outfitting for it in this sweet as hell armory but i never got to the zombies becuase i was way to into the gear and deciding what guns to bring.

I hate having death dreams its what i call them yeah ive already told yous my dream, when i woke up i felt actualy fairly sick and considering when my dream ended a zombie was just about to bite my face i was like am i turning in to a zombie :scare: but then i relised it was all a dream so it was all cool

I had a dream I woke up and everybody I knew, everywhere was a zombie. My first thought was to go to my girlfriend's house to save her and go to my aunt's house. I don't know why I would go to my aunt's house since it's over an hour away. I had a shovel type thing as a weapon and as I ran to her house I smashed their heads in. That's when I woke up laughing.

lately i have been having alot of zombie dreams none scary just more nervewrecking cause i am tell people what to do and they want to play games.

one i was on a camping trip with 3 other ppl. for some reason we are in a clearing in the woods at maybe 9 at night it would have been dark if the moon wasn't full. then the 4 of us hear these moans and braches breaking. i notice that the night sounds are gone which always mean get the hell outta dodge so i am like guys we need to get back to the cabin. so i take off running when a group of about 20 z's are behind us and 50 in fornt. so i am like this way and next thing i know we r in the cabin. then the boring part kicked in . i had to explain what was going on. so i am like there r only 3 out side the cabin get packed up and we can leave in the car if we can do it with in the next 5 mins. the other female in the group is complaining cause she wanted to cook her man's dinner before we left. i'm like do u know u r going to be dinner if we don't leave now. one of the males found a gun. as the female got mad because guns kill:x so she hides the shells and starts to cook which causes the zombie horde to become larger so i get mad and say uyou guys can stay here if you want but give me the truck keys so i can go. the 2 males are sitiing down drinking beer.stating they r inside the truckso some how i get on the roofnoticeing the sunroof is open on the truck. i make a statement out loud to myself about while the zombise r too busy at the door and windows i can jump off the roof onto the truck roof and side in. for get my clothes.

then that is when i was awaken by some asshole calling the wrong number after hitting the club...trying to get some.
i was enjoing my sleep and wanted to know if it worked lol.

I've had bajillions of zombie dreams, and though many of you may enjoy these, I for one do NOT. I am horrified both during and when I wake up, and all day long I'll think about my dream and be horrified, so it's not fun.

My latest one was pretty interesting, though, and again I woke up screaming (waking up Patrick, again...heh)

I took my daughter (who's 21 now) for a ride in the woods to go to a small cabin we rented out for a vacation, just the two of us. It's a small rather adorable house with a front yard, and way ahead of it is a small graveyard. why there's a graveyard in the woods is anyone's guess. Anyway, we enter with a small key, and I look out the large picture window across the front yard and see in the distant graveyard, why, it's JIM MORRISON, walking really slowly, towards the house. But he's walking with a sort of limp, seems to be dragging a leg as he walks... odd, I thought he was dead... the next thing I know, he's joined by another man, walking in the same limping fashion, and they both lean down, and now I see that there's a third person on the ground, and the first two are eating him. I hear the screams, and I KNOW. Suddenly I'm thinking, OMG how am I going to protect my daughter with this huge azz window here?!? I find a door with a staircase in it, and JUST as I grab her and pull her through the door, the front door busts open and a flood of zombies tumbles onto the living room floor. I shut the door behind us and we run up the stairs, where we're now in some bedroom. I shut the door at the top of the stairs, and there happens to be boards and nails, so I quickly board it up. I can hear them thumping on the downstairs door already. Walking around this bedroom, I find a closet and open it. I feel around, there's a small hidden latch inside, which I push, revealing a hidden door inside the closet. I grab Crissy and we go through the door, up another flight of stairs, and at the top, we enter a large living room with a fire burning in a fireplace. There's an old lady sitting in a rockingchair knitting, and she smiles and welcomes us. She says her son built this getaway from the zombies for her husband and her. Says her husband's in the kitchen and we're welcome to stay "till they go away again". Finally, we're looking out her window, which isn't boarded up cause it's the third floor, we can see the zombies leave. There ended up being about 50 of them. She shows us this fancy shuttle her husband designed, a sort of backhoe that lowers you down from the side of the house into the driveway area. she said we could get in, it was like a glass elevator that could reach you right out to your car. Crissy and I get in, intent on being dropped right through my car's sunroof. As we're being lowered, the thing STOPS WORKING as we're hovering right above my car, which gets the attention of the zombies from wherever they had been.. they close in on us, surround us from just underneath us... and I"m SCREAMING.....

.... and then I wake up, screaming in RL, sweating, crying.... it ruined my day. I couldn't shake it ALL DAY. As if I lived through it. It was awful.

I've had quite a few crazy ones.

One in particular that comes to mind was it was about 3 in the morning and I just got back from a party, was mildly intoxicated and checking my myspace.

I fell asleep at the comp I guess, and in my dream i was right where I was when i feel asleep, so i thought I was still awake. And my neighbor runs down my driveway covered in blood with a pick axe in his hads and comes to my window telling me he just had to kill his whole family because they were trying to eat him. Then my dad burst through my door with part of his neck missing covered in blood. and my neighbor climbed through my window. and then I woke up.

and I woke up freaked out as all hell lol.

Then I've had probably in the range of 20 where I'm at my house or someone elses holed up and waiting out, then there's always this big action sequence where I just start beating em and shooting etc...

Just last night, I had a dream about a group of my friends visiting 112 Ocean Avenue, getting there, and finding only a well with a creepy little girl crawling from it. After fleeing, we ran into the aliens from Undead. I can't make this kinda crap up.

the very first post says that one of the draw backs of being a zombie fan is have nightmare zombie dreams. i think that is wrong one of the benefits of being a zombie fan is having those nightmares. i have em about once or twice a week and i personally love em because every time i dream its a new zombie encounter and i love the originality of it all. i mean there aren't to many zombie films coming out now and having the nightmares give me something new in my zombieless life
