I love 70's & early 80's hard rock. My favorite band is Deep Purple and I like Black Sabbath, Dio, AC/DC, Rainbow etc.
Boozbie
05-25-2007, 12:06 AM
The question is do you like black sabbath when dio was the singer? its almost unlistenable Dio and sabbath are good alone but combined it would be like the lead singer from Wasp taking over vocals for Metallica....actually?
If you like Trivium then you probaly like Ensiferium, Turisa, and Battlelore metal the way its supposed to be EPIC so epic you dare not look at pictures of what the band looks like for fear that you cant like them anymore.....one word example, "Manowar"
AC/DC man Bond Scott was the dude and he went out the only way befitting a badass
PS We all know Motorhead kicks ass so it doesnt even need to be said.

My musical tastes are a bit too varied to go into here. The majority of what I'm currently listening to is HorrorPops, ZZ Top (current album of choice: Rhythmeen), and Tito & Tarantula (current album of choice: Hungry Sally & Other Killer Lullabies). Toss in some old Mojo Nixon & Skid Roper, and I'm all set for my road trips.:)

How could I forget MSI? Truly one of the best random bands ever.
i know its going a little off topic but i need to ask, can you please explain how they are 'random'?
im sorry, but i have a HATRED for the use of this word in this day and age, its such a trend to be 'random' or to use that phrase to describe something.
devourthesun
05-30-2007, 02:19 PM
Random:proceeding, made, or occurring without definite aim, reason, or pattern: the random selection of numbers.
Which describes just about every MSI song ever written. I'm not saying its a bad thing, because they pull off songs that make no god damn sense lyrically really well.

05-30-2007, 02:24 PM
well u need to listen to ALOT more MSI then, coz there songs have ALOT of pattern and a hell of alot of meaning, as straight forward as it may not be its still definatly there.
i would think the word 'eccentric' describes them more so than 'random' tho.
still, at the end of the day their music is VERY straight forward to some of the other great musicans/bands out there.

Actually i dont really consider Pink Flyod a band its more a perfect unison of sound created by aliens in human form......except "Piper at the Gates of Dawn" unlistenable, you NEED acid to even begin to enjoy that album.
I really want to go to a Flyod show i saw a dvd of there last tour (insane light show) but i would get kicked out for sure the seats looked expensive and there would be all sorts of buttoned down folks quietly enjoying themselves and in the middle of all that i would be just curled up in my seat wild eyed and shoeless, rocking back and forth humming/grunting along to the music!
PS oh i never said i had anything against Nirvanna its just that there are only two rock stations were i live and they have been playing the same songs every hour since the early 90's.

I consider myself to have a rather diverse taste in music generally, although my CD and MP3 collections are primarily dominated by death, doom, and black metal (my overall favourite band has to be My Dying Bride). But I enjoy a fairly wide range of classic stuff from the 70s and 80s from a variety of genres (I even enjoy older classical music). The only genres I've never been interested in are rap, country and trance/techno/rave music.
