I’m going to come clean and admit that I REALLY don’t understand how 28 Days Later became as popular as it has. I thought it was as scary as an Andrex puppy. Danny “They’re not zombies” Boyle’s non-zombie zombie movie really didn’t grab me. As with most of Doyle’s work it’s rooted with a typical British miserablism that really gets under my skin. So why the hell would I do it to myself again by going to see its bastard sequel? - Good question.

The answer lays three simple words: Juan Carlos Fresnadillo, the man responsible for the criminally under-seen Intacto. With Intacto, his debut feature, he showed he had a raw talent. Dealing with lucked up hooligans betting their lives for kicks, and indeed, a mass amount of money. If you are yet to see it I highly recommend you hunt it down and give it a whirl, you will not be disappointed.

It’s been 6 long years since Intacto, but he is back and he’s made the unusual choice of selecting a British film for his follow up feature. Not only that… but a SEQUEL! It usually spells death for any aspiring filmmaker, as we all know how sequels tend to turn out. But I’m happy to say that in his talented hands he’s taken a rather shitty film and produced something fantastic.

The opening scene alone is on track for being the greatest horror achievement of the year. It’s that arresting! It won’t just hit you; it will **** you where you breathe!

I respect your opinion.
Now for my review! One word. Terrible.

Too many plot holes for me, too many cliches, too many unrealistic action scenes.

No problem, I'm enjoying posting on these forums.

I think it became popular because it was a realistic movie, it did not approach it like a usual fictional zombie movie, it was like what would happen if that virus actually got out. I admit it had flaws, but it was a breath of fresh air in the zombie genre, seeing as how a majority of them are for pure entertainment.

I haven't seen it as I wasn't a big fan of the first. I don't really feel any burning desire to pay money to see the second so I'll be waiting till it hits Netflix. If I want to see an entertaining "post-apocalytpic thriller" I'll rent Mad Max.

It's all a matter of opinion, you may like it as it is different from Days

Good review!

I liked both flicks, mind. Somewhat contraversially, I think the 2nd one may have the edge.

I totally agree with Phil's point about the opening scene, absolulely top-notch:)

Aside from some dodgy camera work it was a fine movie. And yes I do think it is a better movie than its predecessor.

I really enjoyed this movie. It wasn't scary, per say, but it was EXTREMELY tense. Definently an edge-of-your-seat popcorn movie. Frightening is a better word than scary. Gory to the maxx. Lived up to the awesomeness of the first one. I agree with the shakedness of the camera being to much though. I could hardly tell what he was swinging that crowbar at in the beginning.

OH! And this is the first "zombie" movie that made me NOT want there to be an outbreak of some kind. I suppose that's because it wasn't like Dawn or Shaun or Dawn:2004 where they had a resting scene halfway through. You know, where they just pal around the mall and have fun between zombie attacks. 28 Weeks was all out zombie carnage the whole time.:scare:

I felt like I was watching Revenge of the Sith. This movie was cut a bit too tight...that being said, it created tension when it intended to...so good looking out.

I hope the break out is expanded upon. It is time like these when you appreciate Peter Jackson
