Wow, wasn’t The Devil’s Rejects a really great movie? Yep, it sure was. And wow, don’t you hate it when rip-offs of a really great movie start popping up right and left, kinda like those evil little lizard Gremlins that pop out of cute little Gizmo’s fur?
Not that Thr3e is a rip-off of The Devil’s Rejects, per se. Story wise, it’s closer to Saw and Se7en. But somebody involved with this film must have had an inspiration: “Hey, I know! We’ll get Priscilla Barnes and Bill Moseley to be in this movie and maybe then people will want to see it cuz they’ll think it’s like The Devil’s Rejects! And since we can’t get Sid Haig, we’ll throw in that creepy little shit who played the creepy little gas station attendant in The Hills Have Eyes remake!”
Sorry guys. It didn’t work for A Dead Calling, it didn’t work for Ed Gein: The Butcher Of Plainfield and it doesn’t work for Thr3e, which is one of the more ridiculously complex and overly long films I’ve seen in quite some time.
Thr3e is the story of Kevin Parson (Marc Blucas), a quietly serious and highly intelligent seminary student who is currently hard at work on his thesis which is all about the battle between good and evil and stuff.
