Many view Man Bites Dog as a vicious critique of the media's obsession with violence, and the film has found new resonance with American audience's love of "reality TV." With the full acknowledgment that this film was made well before the advent of the grotesque evil that is reality-based television, let me just say this: Nothing is more soul-liquefying than "America's Next Top Model."

While the ultra-violence contained within this film is truly harrowing and forces the viewer to confront one's own empathy and indeed their very humanity, Tyra Banks eats babies and it's quite clear that she expects no less from her protégés. One second of hesitation to swallow the offals of a newborn will result in immediate dismissal from the show. Of this I am positive.

At any rate, Man Bites Dog is fairly disturbing as well. Ben (Benoit Poelvoorde) is a serial killer, and an affable film crew has decided to follow him around Belgium and document his killings. The film starts out with an abrupt shock of violence and reminds me of the first kill scene in an old favorite of mine, George Romero's Martin. Oh, I didn't finish the review. It sounded like TBD though. Believe me, I know most reality tv is shit! Especially "Survivor." I just like giving people hard times. I was just playin around with him! The only reality tv show from what I've seen that I like is probably "American Idol." And maybe the "Real World" just because it was the original.

Anyway, Man Bites Dog, although fairly violent in places, has some of the best black humour I have seen on film. More people really should see this

Reality television is for people with sever cases of down syndrome, ADHD, and suffer from stupidity. I don't watch television that much because of the abundance of idiotic shows, and the fact that I hate commercials. I just watch movies.
