Notice how every movie has some sort of chemical that makes the zombies?Well land of the dead doesn't .And what is up with fiddler's green and the "boss"? What do you think started it all?

land of the dead was the 4th movie in a series of films. So in night of the living dead (the first of the series) it was rumoured to be a sat returning to earth. then in the 2nd (dawn of the dead) we get a opinion that hell is full and that is why. the 4 movies never had a for sure reason for the dead coming back to life so its anyones guess.

if you knew the golden foursome already.. then sorry for the old news.

And then in the Dawn remake Ken Foree elaborated on the whole 'Hell is full' angle by stating there were too many gays in the world. Oh, and bastards too. Not the East End thug kind, but children born outta wedlock.

What a world we live in. :scare:

And I get the feeling Hunger, guy... you haven't touched the only other holy trilogy outside of Star Wars, have you? :-( Yeah, it's all in there... and at the same time the movies say nothing (as was said above me) and thats the way I like it. Who needs/wants exposition? I love the mysticism surrounding it.

As for Kauffman and Fiddler's Green, they're purely analogies for society's complacency, and ignorance at a problem. There's a heavy dose of class-warfare in there too. Mr. K's got nothing to do with the problem... lets leave the Umbrella theories at the door!

I was under the impression that radiation started NOTLD.

I was under the impression that radiation started NOTLD.

As did I. Personally, I think that /is/ the cause of the zombism, zombifection, zombirus. The whole religious aspect was just a subtle 'nod' to the church controlled state in America. Similar to how the Christian church explains the presence of dinosaur bones to further their own doctrine/dogma.

From a scientific standpoint, I would suggest Africa. Many new bacteria, prions, and viruses originate from there.

It was the midi-chlorians.

I understand the whole radiation idea, but where did it come from? It was our satellite, so what did the government put on the satellite to begin with?

The movie never tell how how the zombie virus began. The explanation in the movie given from characters are not true, but are just their views on how it started.

in my opinion the virus began with a few animals get the infected and die. Soon other animal begin to eat the remain but leave after they realize the animal has something. Later the animals that ate the remains die, other animal come and repeate the cycle. Soon people realize that animal are dieing at a fast rate. Soon people take some infected animal and die bodys to a lab. The virus is then discovered by the scientist, but the animal die before an cure is found. The scientist then infect other animal in order to find a cure. During the testing two scientist arefe bitten, but only one has meat betting off, while the other only have bit marks. Everyone is too busy concerned about the one that is more injuried, while the other uses disinfectest. Soon more injury is taken to a place for treatment, but the other leave the lab to home. The next day both scientist die and then come back to life and begin to eat people. The one in the lab is locked in the room with other already dead scientist, but soon remenber to other scientist, but it to late and the virus begin to spread.

In NOLD 68 it was a satellite returning from Venus that was destroyed by the government when scientists discovered a high level of radiation on the satellite.
Unfortunately it was too close to the earth so the radiation got into the atmosphere and all hell broke loose. At least that's what the news reports said in the first NOLD and that works for me. I like it when everybody who dies comes back not just people who were bitten. It spreads faster when all the corpses get up and stuff. it would take awhile if it was just people getting bitten. Of course opinions may very.:)
