My neighboring city Seattle is the rainiest city in the country:( But lucky me, it's supposed to be this way until next Wed. except for tomorrow will have a few sprinkles but still be in the mid to high 60s! Yeah, it did. Very nice. I was outside pushing the lawnmower around for a good portion of the day and I managed to avoid getting all overheated. Temps were in the upper 60s, the sky was clear and there was a good breeze. This is the type of weather I really enjoy.

I think we're about to get hammered. I just noticed that the sky has turned to a particularly nasty shade of grey, the winds suddenly picked up and I can hear peals of thunder off in the distance. It got real ugly real fast. Reminds me of some of those summertime thunderstorms in the Sierra-Nevadas.

i hear ya...I was once up there hiking near mt shasta, it was 70 and warm, not a cloud in the sky. 2 hours later the temp had dropped to the 30's and it began to snow on us!

We had a squall blow through around 5:30 (right after my last post). For about five minutes, it was raining so hard that I couldn't see across the street. It stopped as suddenly as it started. About an hour later, it started raining again and that kept up for about an hour. It's still overcast, but it's nice & cool out now.

I have a fan going at full blast and it happens to be the only fan in the house, at the moment. That problem will be sorted in the next day or so. I am scared to move away from the fan as you feel the difference when you exit the room I am in and move through the rest of the house. These houses where I live do not have air conditioning systems built into the walls or anything, if you dont supply your own cooling system (fan, etc) then your f*cked!.

It was so bad last year that I stayed indoors for nearly two and a half weeks. As it was so damn hot. Indoors and out. I ended up getting heat rash from staying indoors as I never had a fan to keep me cool LOL.

Its been in the low 80s, and dry here for that past month. and down in the upper 50s at night. It should be well over 100 this time of year, but I will take it. Its been a perfect summer so far this year. Last year it was like 105-120 every day.

Thats why I like living on the west coast, it gets hot, but there is no humidity here. But it only got up to 77 yesterday, I was watching the news this morning, most of the beaches here are closed right now due to a jellyfish invasion, the currents have brought millions of them. I went down to the pier this morning, the ocean is full of them. Pretty neat. :evil:

The heat never really bothered me much. Having grown up in SoCal and lived in Nevada, I kinda got used to it. What nails me is the humidity. A week or so ago, both the temp and the humidity were running in the 90s here in NJ. Stepping outside was like going into a bathroom where somebody has left the shower running hot water only. Sticky & miserable. It was so muggy that my glasses would fog up.

It's still on the warm side here, but at least the humid streak has broken for the time being.

Hurricane Rita is basically giving me heart attacks around the clock. I'm freakin out about my sister right now, cause she hasn't called in a while, and I'm here in Dallas with the nieces. I doubt that she's hurt or anything, but I'm always antsy in the hurricane season. She called me a week ago and told me that she was visiting mom in Houston, so I'm just trying to stay calm and not freak the girls out.

It's been pissing down rain here for the past couple of days, but at least the temp has been running in the 60s to low 70s. It's supposed to start heating back up tomorrow. We have more rain in the forecast which means that is just going to get all hot and miserable muggy again.

Can't wait for fall.
