man they shut it down for; i guess many different resons.... pain says that it needs to be "cleaned up" and i agree to a point, apparently alot of people on here think that the US&D thread is getting outta hand and that everyone posting on there are:
1) not post anywhere else on the site
2)actully belive Z-day is going to happen
3) are delusional crazys who own guns and are one day gonna shoot up there school thinking there are real zeds running about.
now then i do think that the US&D thread should be cleaned up because it was getting full of some retarded posts and what-not but to say that it should be closed down compleatly is, pardon my english, BULLSHIT.
to say that we are all nuts and acully belive that zombies will walk the earth is absurd, i for onr love the US&D thread and no i am not a gun-toteing idiot who is actully perpareing for Z-day, i like to PRETEND, which is why i love that perticuler thread. now i know that we as a comunity CANNOT aford to have what happend to VF (vampire-freaks) happend here ( i was a member of VF and was friends with the kid who shot up that colage up north) and i can understand that if some one who was a member killed a bunched of people,espesily at school and the news media where to come on and see some of the posts in US&D they would have a feild day, but to compleatly destroy the thread is wrong and shows; in my opinion, that the bitching's of a few can ruin this website. The Blind Dead is one of the people who i guess is adament about takeing US&D away and he is entiteld to his opinion as are we all ,but just because he has a couple thousand post is NO reson that he gets his way just because you've been on the site longer doesnt make you right, and if the general thought on this site is that to have sway on here you have to have a couple thousand post then why let new people join in the first place?
and i welcome The Blind Dead and all who hat2e the US&D thread to argue this with me as long as they can not degrade to 8 year olds when they have a valid point shown to them, as i post on the US&D thread numorus times a day

Ok, I have several with you bitching. First off BD wasn't the only one complaining, he just brought it up and if you look into you'll notice more started to follow suite as well. Second off, it doesn't matter how many posts you have but if a contributing member that never really complains about anything that's going on the board shows some concern; there's a problem.

Maybe YOU aren't a "gun-toteing" moron but there are people in there that are. You bring up how another forum you belonged to was responsible for someone shooting their school up and they were discussing the same thing. You totally just ruined your point. Instead of the Mods sitting by idley and watching this happen they stopped it before anything could happen. I don't know about you but I wouldn't want to be responsible for another Columbine. The section's gone. It's been gone. It's a dead issue. It's pretty funny that NO ONE complained when it was closed, now weeks later everyone's talking about it. Up until now, I didn't even know who you were. I didn't know ANYBODY in that part of the board. They never left. Now they're starting to and the ones that aren't, are leaving and really have no place on here. So I don't see closing that part of the board as being a negative thing. As far as I'm concerned, I wouldn't care if it ever came back.

If we as a community cannot afford to have happen what happened at the VF forums, why even take a chance? What sense would it make to leave a forum open and encourage more insanity and simply cross your fingers and hope nobody losses their marbles and packs a totebag with guns?

It's funny you should bring up what you feel ruins a website because up until now I've never seen you in any other forum. How can you possibly have an opinion on what RUINS a website when you don't CONTRIBUTE to a website? I was one of MANY people that had issues with the things that were being written in that forum. My opinion, other's opinions and the mod and admins actions have absolutely nothing to do with post count. To assume so is just immature. This isn't about post counts or swaying a website, it's about dangerous people possibly being fed dangerous ideas in a forum that is, for the most part, unsupervised.

And I want to go on the record to say that The Blind Dead, and I, have had at each other a couple of times here. I have no idea if he took it personal, or not, but we do not seem to see eye to eye on many things. To me that is fine because he is who he is, and who am I to shit on that? He is a contributing member of this society, and personal issues with other people aside this place would be smaller without him. It's not like a bunch of high-post count posters told the mods what to do, and they did it.

We, along with others, pointed out that things were getting out of control, again. I have been thinking about posting, or PM'ing about it for awhile. I know there were a few in there who did not appreciate my humor, and expressed it to me personally in quite unkind terms. For the most part this board runs very smoothly on it's own, and I attribute it to the mods. :drinking: That said, they are not omnipotent, and it is possible they missed some of the crazier posts. For that reason that is why I said what I said.

Plus, there is no real debate here. We did not close down the forums, but the board owner, and a mod, made that decision. They can do whatever they like because this is not a place for free speech. They pay the bills, and they babysit the rabble rousers. They get to say jump, and we get to say how high. I do not envy them their jobs, and I just hope I do not fall into the "rabble rouser" side of things too often. So just re-read the thread that was linked, take a chill pill, and I am betting it will be back. :clap:

Undead Survival and Defense was a pretty cool idea for a forum. It's just too bad it wasn't used the way that it was intended. I've never actually posted anything on that thread but I've read alot of peoples post and the majority of the peeps get side tracked. After a few posts theres not even any mention of zombies. It ends up being all about guns and the people end up sounding like a bunch of nazi's. It really is too bad. It sounds like fun and it's something I would of liked to have gotten involved with because quite often I wake up and pray that the rest of my life will be packed full of excitement because of zombies roaming the streets.

Oh, one more thing. Yesterday I tried posting on that thread and it said it was temporarily closed for maintenance. Is that the truth or are they closing it for good because of the dumb F***s? If that is the case, well then, it's for a good reason then. I fully agree with the board owner and mods. I really wish people would have followed a few minor rules. And there really is no need for bitching because I'm sure that the majority (remember, majority means not all but the major %) of the people bitching about it are the ones that forced it to close!

Nothing permanent has happen to the forum... We're just closing it temporarily until Kev has a chance to straighten it out a little... This isn't the first time we've closed down the US&D forum for this kind of maintenance, so all I can tell you is to just be patient. :-|
