One of the theaters a few towns away that has a lot of classic horror flicks shown did a "original VS remake," playing the original Dawn, then the remake, and as a bonus, threw in Deadlands: The Rising.

During intermission, they had the guy who played "helicopter zombie" (the one that got the top of it's head torn off by the helicopter blades) signing autographs. He was charging so I didn't get one, but we got some pics with him for free. He was rather friendly.

Did anyone else make it out to this?

He was charging for autographs? I know some of the more recognizable faces do this, but he must be having a laugh:x

Well, I expect the theater promised him SOME sort of pay for his appearance, and that's how they worked it out. Only, I'd say, about four or five people paid. The audience was really small. He was friendly, though.

That is one thing that I will never do is pay for a autograph. No matter how big of a Star they are. I use to be into collecting sports cards, you go to these sports card shows and a current or former player would charge up to a $100 just to autograph a sports card. I guess the helocopter zombie guy needed some beer money. I might buy him a beer for a autograph, but never pay cash for one.

I agree with UDF, anyone who would charge money for an autograph must either be a jerk or hard up for money.

He must've lost the generosity part of his frontal cortex when the blades took his noggin off.

Oooh, I was going to say the same thing. How did you read my mind? But anyway, in a sense, I would disagree with everyone a bit. He starred in a movie that pleased horror fans all around, and in a sense has every right to ask for money, since he was asked to go out there. It's not like he took his own time and money for travelling expenses, hotel stay and so forth just to go to a show for horror fans to meet him; you got to think about too? If it was George Romero would you have said no to him and let him give his John Hancock freely on a piece of paper where swindlers could put on a check? I wouldn't.:x

Read your mind, and agreed with everything you just said. He's the helicopter zombie, not Tom Hanks... he ain't coining it. He stood on a crate, with a prosthetic crown and some fishing line.

I'd milk it!
