Spiderman is, by far, my favorite superhero. I cannot wait until number three comes out. It comes out May 4th. Unfortunatly I won't be able to see it the day it comes out like I planned to cuz our school is going to Carowinds... but I WILL see it!!

The fight sequences are cool, despite the computer animated 'actors' doing most of the stunts, which shows. Nothing can replace a real person performing the stunt. Venom will hopefully give Spider-Man a good fight in Sam Raimi's SM3.

I'm not to sure the 1st spiderman was really good but maybe cause I'm not a spidy fan I'll probably wait til it comes out on dvd. One good thing is probably they'll show spiderman 2 on tv, I'll still to see it!
Though I might head just to see vemon.

i went to a midnight show tonight and it left me VERY disappointed! this movie had so much promise with venom in it and since i've been reading spidey comics since i was like 10 and it turned out to be my biggest fear... a cheesy comic book movie. i don't know what sam was thinking with this one!
but the good news is bruce campbell's cameo is the best compared to the other two.

I LOVE Carowinds!! I was born in Charlotte and lived there until about '77 then moved to Shelby which is just below Gastonia.
As for SM3, I'll probably wait on DVD. The trailer looks great, but I didn't like part 2 which had a good looking trailer as well. To be honest, there aren't many comic adaptions that I like much at all. I think I liked Spider Man 1 because he was my favorite super hero when I was growing up.

Spiderman 3 sucked. I have never been that disappointed walking out of theater. It is nothing like the other 2 and it makes little sense.

I have no intention of catching this one in the theater. That being said, I'd appreciate if someone could explain something to me. How does PP get the black costume in this movie? In the comics, he got it during the Secret Wars mini-series back in the mid-80s.

I hated it... the rollercoasters sucked lol. It's out but I haven't got to see it. I may go next weekend!!

saw it on opening day, have to say it was great, it would have been better if three things were to have happened:
1. People shutup during the movie
2. Children werent screaming
3. Eddies voice when his face was covered
But aside from that i really liked it

I went and saw it today and enjoyed the movie. I liked the 1st... hated the 2nd..and liked the 3rd. It had great action but the cg was very bad when they tried to show pete and harrys face out of costume flying around..
another bad aspect of the film was the amount of talking. they could have cut that down and added more fighting.
go in wanting a fun film and you got it.. they should have stuck with the original story of venom but whatever. topher did a good job as well as ... cant think of his name but hes a BA who played sandman.
another thing I liked was the message that they are sending to kids. Do the right thing.. I like it.. dont see it alot in movies.
the best part of the film was Bruce Campbell.. he was in it for about 5 minutes solid and had great lines.. good ole Bruce.. doing what he does best.. cooky characters.

I loved this movie and I don't have a single complaint about it. The dialogue was essential and more fighting scenes would've made for a mindless action flick. The comedy, action, and drama was perfectly balanced in my opinion.

It's always a risk making sequels. However, for me... I absolutely loved it. The action sequences I thought were some of the best in all the films. I thought the ending was the right ending. (Endings are always the hardest part to write). Like EvilZombie20 said, I think everything was balanced right. Some people I talked to didn't like the love story, but in the comics and the cartoon Peter Parker was very much in love with Mary Jane, and I think this movie needed that.
Anyways I loved it. For me there is always something about Spiderman films that makes me wish they were 8 hours long (Exaggerating) I just love the story and always want to know what happens next.
A lot of people I have talked to said that they hated the "American Flag" scene. What was so cheesy about it?

Dialogue dragged.. admit it.. admit it!!
jk
The comedy loll man that was great.
nurse- you have nice friends
harry- turns his head with cheese smile "best friends"
waitress- hows the pie
harry- turns head big cheese smile "oh so good"
pete going on a pelvic thrusting winking rampage.
not that the movies had a day to sit with me. I like it more.

The friends that i went to see it with and me enjoyed the fact that when the venom suit started getting to parker it turned him emo (the scene of him adjusting his hair more to an emo swoop in the mirror was ace). I thought the CG was a big step up from the previous 2 films and the fights were pretty well choreographed. I liked the way venom moved in goo form, appropriately creepy and menacing. But far and away the best part of the movie was Bruce's cameo. Scene stealing stuff.

I'll wath it when it comes to On Demand, otherwise I hated the first flick, and it took me three sittings to get through the second. It doesn't help that Mary Jane Watson is supposed to be a SUPERMODEL, and they picked Kirsten "I take a shower every 12 days" Dunst to play her.

It's just wrong. They could have done so much more with it. More venom would have instantly made it better. I sat through the thing TWICE and was bored of the film both times. The best bit definately was Bruce Campbell's scene, blatently put in there just so he had a part in the film.

I thought this installment was incredibly entertaining and the characters were engaging. The Spider-Man series has done a better job of humanizing the villains than any other super hero franchise.

Just Back from Spidey 3, I did enjoy it. Spider-Man series has to be the best super hero movies ever, I don't care what anyone says. This movie is slightly flawed, the story is a little un even but no one can say it hasn't a decent plot, it has about 5! A lot of fans are attacking Raimi, why? It's Fox that slated a release date before their was even a story written. Also get on at him because of the dialog scenes and actual character development, huh?

BIG ASS SPOILERS HERE, BY THE WAY!!!
I saw it on release, and it got about a high 5/10 from me. It wasn't shit in the Batman & Robin or X Men 3 sense... but there was just so much wrong with it. For starters, who'd have thought there would have been trouble cramming as much as they did into a movie that runs at the 2hr 20min mark?
Well, Raimi and the writers sure blew it.
There was just too much going on, and after Spidey's second confrontation with Sandman I had actually forgotten that Sandman/Marko was even a factor in the movie - what with the symbiote, Harry's recovery and Peter/MJ/Gwen love triangle all being thrown around on screen. The Sandman was completely underdeveloped... which was a crying shame as they could have really padded out his story - instead of one scene with his daughter in bed. He mentions money several times, that it'll help her, but that's it. She's in the movie as nothing more than a device. I'd forgotten all about him after the first confrontation. Then he re-emerged from the water about an hour in and I'm like "Oh yeah."
Again, character development being sacrificed for the sake of putting in as much story as possible. What the studios' don't realize is the SIZE of the story doesn't make an epic, it's the SCOPE.
Eddie Brock was the shining light amongst a franchise where the major players (Maguire and Dunst) are seemingly becoming bored with the proceedings. Grace nailed that cocky, brash character of Brock's... and I couldn't wait for him to meet the symbiote. That delivered, but again, Venom was handled in a pretty second rate way. I don't blame Raimi for that, but Marvel for pressuring him just for the sake of the almighty $.
And then there's a scene where the Sandman meets Venom in the alley. They fight for about two seconds and then Venom tells the Sandman that he wants to team up to get Spider-Man. It's exposition and yes it had to happen so the next part could happen, but it just didn't feel right. I just didn't buy that scene at all.
As for the Harry/revenge arc; again no time to really flesh it out... and it only benefited from the fact that the second movie already formed the majority of the story. Everything, from Harry's memory loss to his teaming up with Spidey, and ultimately his death, were handled in an incredibly heavy-handed, slapdash fashion. His butler Bernard just appearing on the scene and informing Harry that it was in fact the blades on Gobby's glider that killed him, and that Norman had died by his own hands was just stupid.
Why did it take him FIVE YEARS to tell Harry that? A piss poor 'throw it in there'... 'there you have it' approach to advancing the story. And to top it off... how the heck would the butler know this anyway?
Pathetic exposition.
The middle act dragged, and everything plunged into OC territory a little more than it should have. Peter's reaction with the symbiote was entertaining, outside of the musical numbers. This movie's answer to the 'Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head' section from #2 was fantastic, but I think we should have gotten to see more of the symbiote's hold over Spidey - and not just Peter. As for the symbiote and Spidey's suit, what was this extra power?... this extra rush he was feeling? We never got to see it. The suit gave him no advantage in fighting Sandman, and he used the location around him more than anything. All we had was Peter changing his attitude. I guess it's not surprising though, as time had to be put aside so we could have more dance/musical numbers and characters playing phone-tag. For some reason they decide to focus on the most ridiculous things, and then rush through the most important parts.
Again, sacrificed by the fact too much was going on.
The ending? The resolve between Sandman and Spidey at the end of the movie was completely limp.
"You STOLE a load of money."
"My daughter's sick."
"You KILLED a bunch of people."
"My daughter's sick."
"You KILLED my uncle."
"My daughter's sick. Look!" Here's a picture. She's got a cane!
"I forgive you."
"Thanks. I'll go fly away now"
What did work? Sandman looked great. Venom looked SICK when he wasn't switching back to Eddie. And Gwen Stacy just looked stunning.
Oh, and Bruce Campbell just reaffirms that GOD status evermore.
That's all I have. A hesitant thumbs in the middle. Just please, if #4 is definitely happening... for the love of God, avoid that excess fat.

flyboy. about teh sandmans development. I think they did that perfectly. That scene with his daughter showing hes really credible guy (to a certain extent). The mulitpule scenes with Petes uncle Ben. Id rather they put once or two scenes in that have us understand teh man rather then a bunch of him complaining that nobody is fair to him and his family. I got the jest of him from that first scene.
Venom- I would have been happier if they had stuck to the original story.. him getting picked up from a space mission.. Im sure they have put that in and still kept the well done aspiring peter parker story.
harry revenge- This was my favorite part of the film. I loved it when he said "you knew this was coming Pete!" and all his fruity quotes when he was "ok". I liked it. predicable that he was going to help him but what else were they going to do? Kill spiderman? (that would have been sweeeet but not wise for a franchise)
I agree with the excess fat of talking.. could have done without most of the aunt may stuff...
for me.. 7/10 and I couldnt stand the 2nd one.

I think the problem with Spidey3 is even tho it was rushed there is not really another way to do that film unless its just an action fest.
SM 3 from the get go had to have Green Goblin (Harry) return.
BUT lets face it thats pretty weak and boring so they had to have another character, ah Venom. BUT to tell Venom properly you have to have the whole Black-Suit Peter turns to the Dark side story and that takes time. We can't have Peter not fighting a super villain for that duration so they have to bring yet another character into the mix.
Maybe they could have picked another character (Scorpion), one that Spider-Man could have dealt with half way through the movie before moving onto fight Venom.
Also I missed the whole Venom/Brock messing with Peter's life aspect and I also think he should have been the one they let live as to my knowledge he becomes a sort of Anti-Hero later.
But as I say it's almost like this film had to be flawed to work, not try and out-do the previous film.
