I tell ya...managing an independent film takes so much work. Especially for two people. Acquiring locations, getting actors to commit, getting money around, script revisions.... and we just pushed our principal photography date back to August 10 (my 30th birthday!) because there's too many other people at the day job that are taking time off during the summer. At least our script kicks ass.

Know exactly how you feel. Its all about getting all the people for a decent amount of time.
Good luck, I hope it's a short lol.

Just did that last year and ran into a couple of unexpected problems especially since it was a remote location.
1. Ran out of food coloring, and no place within 30 miles to buy it.
2. Prop failure with no way to fix
3. Shooting was running long so certain scenes got trimmed.
Other slipups
An actor with glasses wore them for multiple takes of one long scene
A usual jacket/no jacket slipup was almost missed.
Luckily we caught these during shooting.

I'm having the time off the day job problem as well. I wanted to finally set up a week long schedualed shoot, but it looks like it's not going to happen because of our jobs. Pisses me off. We might try for a 4 day weekend, then go back and film the bigger effects the following 2 weekends.

I have just started my second zombie script and I am finding it increasingly hard to find time to sit down and write. Between work and other obligations I just dont hae time.:x

I know how you feel its going on month 3 and still the writer has not completed the dang script. I'm trying to find a writer who can write a unique non generic style zombie film wit lots of gore. I'm sitting here with 300 xtras about 20 crew members and no script to even start pre production or do casting. Luckily its going HD and I just got a pilot with 3 planes.

Wow hearing that makes my productions(if you can call it that) seem so...insignificant. But I'm sure you have been doing this for a while but I'm still a green horn at this sort of thing. But I am still no finished with my script I have even started punching up the first draft yet but I know how hard it can be to get time to type something.
But I'm sure that your writer will get s script out to you soon and it will be a giant gorgasm and you will be able to continue your film.

Yeah all that stuff can be a pain to secure I am having trouble getting some actors even for the zombies which I figured would be the easiest. Ohh well good luck to you and everyone else and I hope your movies get finished and you enjoy the out come of the film.
P.S. I apologize if something in there didn't make any sense I am very tired and out of it. Sorry :)
