You know, I like to think of myself as a “smart” horror fan. Not easily satisfied by a bunch of half-naked women acting badly as they’re splattered in messy but moronic ways, I tend to want to movies that appeal not just to my gag reflex, but to my brain as well. I want something that is cerebral as it is visceral. But you know what? Every now and then, I just have got an unshakeable hankering for crap.

Sometimes it feels good to shred all of one’s pretensions, curl up on the couch with a loved one and a slice of pizza, and watch a movie that is about as far away from intellectual as possible. I like bad movies almost as much as I like the really good ones. I love Ed Wood b-movie cheapies, I do. And I love Terror Toons.

Every once in a while, you find yourself walking down the horror aisle of your local Mom-and-Pop video rental store and something catches your eye. Maybe it’s a title or a cover, but whatever it is the reason it catches your eye is because it looks… just… so… BAD! Invasion Of The Blood-Sucking Hamsters From Hell, that sort of thing.
