Ever sit in class and have a heated debate about zombies with two of your friends whilst getting weird looks from your fellow class mates?

I have, anyone else?

I think this is a right of passage for any zombie fan. What took me by surprise was when I was in a comic book store and taking part in a heated debate over a specific piece of zombie defense theory and was getting wierd looks from other guys in the store. I wanted to say "Don't eyeball me you freak! How many hours have you spent explaining why klingons from the original series didn't have a continental divide on their forehead!?!" I chose to be the bigger man, however, and merely proceeded to explain my beliefs on the benefits of an island vs a mainland stronghold.

Yeah, DZ is right. If your gonna discuss zombies in public be prepared for more than a few strange looks http://i83.photobucket.com/albums/j313/Crickler/Smilies/eek13.gif

The memorable occasion for me was a debate in the pub over whether a viral zombie outbreak could truly become global (this was preceded by everyone's favorite debate - 28DL, zombies or not?). My housemate, rapidly becomig more desperate in his arguments starts to accost random pub goers and tries to lure them into the discussion. Needless to say most people tried to ignore us but a surprising amount were willing to chip in their http://i83.photobucket.com/albums/j313/Crickler/Smilies/twocents.gif

Last year, my GF and I were over at her best friend's house. I was telling her friend how much I liked her yard. She asked me why I liked it so much better than the yard at my GF's house. "Simple. No trees. I'd have a clear field of fire when the zombies come." I was joking, of course. I thought it was pretty funny. When I left the room to go play with the cat, she asked my GF if I was actually serious.

Since then, I've learned to keep it toned down a bit.:)

I never talk about zombies in public, only that I like everything zombies, but I don't have entire conversations about them. I only do that when I'm home and here :)

Me and my friend always look around and tell eachother what we would grab to attack if a zombie randomly approached us in the setting we were in, such as class, the mall, outside. We get some pretty weird looks.

Hmmm... I am not one to talk to much in public but my friends know I love the stuff... I mean not many people are fourteen, love rap music, do everything else a normal teenager does but has some strange movie fetish for zombies... Everyone that knows me knows I love movies... Zombie or not I love all types from your Tarintino stuff all the way to the land of George Ramero... I don't loose friends because of it... I am not an emo or goth(No offense to anyone who is) I have plenty of friends and I am CERTAINLY not seen as a loser to anyone which even if I was I could care less... However discussing all of this zombie stuff usually stays between me and friends... Chewy, I can relate to stuff like that with people I first meet. I really don't believe in stereotypes, even with the mention of goths and emos, however everyone no matter what some classify them into are all different in there own way. I mean most of my friends love horror movies, they sure as hell don't share the same love for them as me but they really don't care, not one is an odd kid or a strange person... I think everyone loves a good zombie movie now and again! :2cents:

OHH YEAH!!! back in high school everyone knew my obsession with the undead and i was using alot back then mixed with a thorough knowledge of weapons and fighting everyone thought i was a little bit off rocker

anyways last night at the bar i got into it explaining why a crossbow is a ineffective weapon against zombies using a pro and con arguments to prove my point then people started asking me what was with me and zombies and i had to defend my position about being prepared for a theoretical invasion of the undead and i had to settle with the old "if it does happen im gonna rub it in all your god damned faces" line!

Ahh yes do start these up alot mostly while sitting around bored enough to smash your head into a pulp on the nearby table. Well last night as a good example! After losing miserably at a game of Manhunt because of our own clumsy barricades blocking the only way into the compound were breached by the large group outside we all decided to just head off home. Me and one of the near only other zombie interested people in the village live quite close to each other so we decided to just walk home together and chat on the way. We started up a debate on how good the local school would be against zombies. All in all we debated about the weakness of some of the main entrances, how food would keep, How to get food, How to escape in an emergency and some other basic things along those lines. I don't usually have these sorts of conversations but it may arise when the time seems right.
