Alright, mother****ers. It's time to sit the **** down and listen the **** up for ****'s sake, okay ****ers? ****in' ****! Why the **** is it that ****in' time? Because it's time for my mother****in' review of Quentin ****ing Tarantino's new ****ing movie, Death Proof. **** yeah.

Sorry for all the f-bombs folks. Just thought I'd get into the Tarantino frame of mind. Anyway, for those of you living under rocks, Death Proof is Quentin Tarantino's contribution to the double feature collaboration with Robert Rodriguez, Grindhouse. The whole point of the Grindhouse project is to recapture the sleazy magic those old 24-hour theaters that were such a staple of alternative cinema in the 70s had, back when going to the movies was an event and an experience, not just a pastime. The kinds of movies the grindhouses played were trashy, schlocky, gritty, low brow, high octane, exploitation b-movies and though they were cheaply made and rarely in the best condition, there was always a sort of charm about them that made you love 'em. And it made you love being at the movies. You don't get that nowadays. Not in the squeaky clean multiplexes where everything is so slick and safe and all the movies take themselves way too seriously.
