Alright let’s suppose I had this movie I wanted you to watch and it had…um…big black birds in it and I yammered something about crows and spirits of the dead you would probably be expecting crows that had some connection to the spirits of the dead, correct? Same here and yet that is NOT what I got when I watched The Sci-Fi Original film, Kaw. The promo commercials presented this film as something supernatural and in my mind that meant this would quite be The Birds knock-off I suspected. Being a HUGE fan of director Sheldon Wilson’s last film Shallow Ground I was prepared to give this one a shot.

I can’t even begin to describe my disappointment. This film had nothing to do with the supernatural...no deep, dark town secret…no souls of the dead revenging themselves from behind the grave using bloodthirsty ravens. Kaw was nothing more than a “nature gone amok” film with some above average CG birds mixed in with real raven footage. I’m not going to sit here and say that I didn’t watch the damn movie all the way through because I absolutely hate it when some ***** claims they “walked out” on a film but I have to admit I wasn’t a happy camper. I wanted feathered retribution for some centuries old wrongdoing...hell…I would even have tolerated the tired old “Government Experiments Gone Wrong” cliché.
