I really didn’t want to rent this movie. I mean, come on - a direct-to-video load about a killer video game? Bitch, please. I already sat and suffered through Stay Alive, which was a major theatrical release! How good can Game Box 1.0 really be?
Be honest; would YOU rent this movie? If every other movie you’d originally come to the video store in search of had all been rented out and this was the last lonely one sitting on the shelf, would you pick it up and give it a whirl? If I wasn’t required to review these things, I probably would have left the store empty handed.
But Game Box 1.0 proved to be not only a pretty darn good and fun little flick, but also a kajillion times better than Stay Alive. But then, I’ve seen episodes of “The Golden Girls” that were a kajillion times better and more intense than Stay Alive was, so perhaps that’s not the best compliment I could have handed out.
