Ok I know theres a thread in the movie section but this isn't for a movie, its for a ombie party, and what i want to do is have a plastic beer bottle coming out of my head so i figure I'm going to cut it so it has tabs and glue the tabs to me, but what i want is help with any tips on the skin/latex around it, what would the wound look like, etc.
Also any other general ideas on other wounds/cuts for the rest of me would be appreciated.

A beer bottle stuck in the head is an "unlikely" injury, but I guess I can try to help. I'm pretty sure they make a latex appliance for this, but for the DIY. Make sure the bottle is short and light enough so it's own weight doesn't pull it off. Definitely try this out way before the party. I'd just use make up for the center of the wound. Use spirit gum to secure the bottle. Build up latex around the bottle. Use some makeup to blend the latex to skin color. Use a blood gel around the wound(maybe excessively to cover up any irregularities).
One good bump and you'll mess up your work.
If you don't mind not seeing well, toilet paper, latex, blood and makeup will have you looking like my friend

why is it an unlike;y injury? Ive always wanted to stab people in the head with a beer bottle ;D Besides, they did it in Idle Hands. my whole sort of idea is i'm going as a skinhead (cause well, I am oe lol ad I have never seen a zombie skin) ad I was thinkig how a skinhead would die and i thought, bar fight ad then I remembered Idle hands with the bottle in his head...
Any ideas on other inurys to the rest of me? i was thinkig of maybe havig a 'half-smile' cut into my face, like a gash startig from the corner of my mouth, which would be easy to do...
what about hands/arms too? keep in mind i have like everything, liquid latex, the 'wound' stack of makeup, spirit gum, etc
this is my first attempt at this lol
i'm going to do a test run tonite, I'll post pics
ad that eye thing is cool, i''ll do that if the bottle thing doesnt work....you should give me step by step instructions pleaase
also any other suggestions on cool ways i could have died are welcome. theres a prize for best costume and if i win it I'll luv ya forever.

ok so I couldt do the bottle thing cayse i would have had to glue it part in myhair...
Sooo I did an exposed cheekbone ad my half smile thig. My problems are
a) I have noooo idea how to do brusies
b)The base cream is streaky, is this cause its cheap?
c) the makup looks diferent on the latex
d) WHAT THE HELL do I use o put the latex on with? I used a paintbrush but it made it chunky and streaky
So heres the pics, please dont make fun of me as I've NEVER done this or worked with these materials before. This is my FIRST attempt ever.

I'm not at home, but I'll try to help. A lot of stuff we've done is from playing around and by no means am I an expert.
a) Bruises - I might have links somewhere. Look around the web for tutorials. Layering the colors - yellows at the outside then purples toward the center use irregular shaped sponges and dab.
b) I like Ben Nye's CAKE foundation for the base. Use a sponge or hydrasponge to put this on. I liked it a lot better than creams.
c) my only solution is lots and lots of makeup then lots of blood if the makeup didn't work
d) I just used the brush and did several very light layers.
For DIY wounds, we'd brush latex then pull at it while it was drying. Major wounds, we'd pour latex out in a long strip (usually on ourselves) then when it was mostly dried we'd roll it up the short way so you have a long irregular strip of flesh. We'd use that for the edge of the wound and brush latex on it as an adhesive and to blend it. Possibly use makeup on it, but blood gel works great.
A few drops of blood in the hairline that drip down onto the face make a nice touch for an unidentified head wound.
As for the eye, toilet paper rolled up as eye patch then layer upon layer of latex followed by blood. BTW, he did that to himself. Be careful of latex and hair. I've heard you can cover eyebrows, etc with modeling wax or something else to prevent the possibly painful removal of latex.
As for the unlikely injury, a broken glass bottle will cut skin, but not bone. There's no way the scalp would hold a broken bottle. There'd be lots of blood, but no broken bottle sticking out of the head. Now if it was something metal like a hammer or axe....
My motto: When in doubt, add more blood.
