Another movie that appears to be in a similar vein to Hostel and Live Feed. Looks interesting nonetheless. Well, Melissa George does:)

The commercial really caught me off guard! I was like, "woah! It's a horror movie!"... Looks pretty good.

Organ harvesting rocks my box!
Unneccessary surgury is the freakiest thing.... They recently broached this topic on Nip Tuc, and my just reminded that we saw The Island which centered around organ harvesting.... freaky stuff

Nice. I think Raw Feed is getting off to a decent start.

I agree. I always take Fango's reviews with a pinch of salt, but this, along with the trailer, does build it up to be quite an enjoyable movie.

I like the premise. It looks like Raw Feed is touching on some interesting urban legends for their first two films.

All these stupid freakin torture movies that have been coming out lately. Hostel, Wolf Creek Saw, etc...All they are is uncreative film making and gore that only teenagers find horrifying. You want to really horrify somebody with gore, might as well go all the way into Cannibal Holocaust territory, not dumb it down for theaters.

Pain

Wolf Creek certainly wasn't a "torture" movie. These kind of movies have been around a lot longer than the Saw movies, which themselves certainly weren't dumb.

 Why do you people bother to even speak on these kind of films when you have absolutely no idea what you're talking about? These kinds of films have been around for years. I like to call them...EXPLOITATION. There's nothing new about this type of cinema if one actually knows what they're talking about.

I seen the movie and I have to say it was pretty good, but it only had a couple of killings--that's it! I don't want my money back but please improve in the actions here. What's a horror movie without it. That's the only change it needs, and that's it. :naughty:

Spoilers are nice when it comes to such things as death tolls. Especially as it is a new movie. I'm going to see it tomorrow and will now know part of what to expect.

My wife had no idea what this movie was about, and I almost convinced her it had Josh Duhamel playing a character like Tom Cruise in Cocktail. So I guess I won't be seeing it in the theatre now. :(

One question, is it only my system, or are those previews/clips very skippy? If it is my system I am going to :x because I am tired of trying to work on upgrading this darn thing.

I enjoyed it. Wasn't spectacular, but it was one of the better recent theatrical horror releases (Horrorfest aside)

Slowly but surely horror movies are improving. They're are going in the right directions with special effects, acting and seriousness. I'm very pleased with the changes. I may go to the remake of the Return of the Dead, if it's ever made.

Hey... some of you guys have been a bit harsh on this one. I saw a preview of Paradise Lost (which is what it's been released here in the UK as) last night and thought I'd give my two cents/one penny's worth.

Paradise Lost (http://youtube.com/watch?v=PqEMqQgVRzQ) is probably more of a thriller than a horror movie and maybe that's where it went a bit astray when released a few months back in the US. Unjustified in my opinion, because it doesn't stick to the tired slasher formula that so many so-called horror movies seem to follow. And heaven forbid there is actually a damn good story going on here, without the need for gratuitous violence (bar one scene!). Saw was gory but had a great storyline. Hostel was ruddy awful because there was no point to it.

Back to PL though. For me it was fun, entertaining and suspenseful and had some stunning girls in it. Always had a bit of a thing for Melissa George and hearing her speak Portuguese.... mmmmmm!!!

For anyone else whose seen it, who did the music in the opening sequence? It's really bugging me not knowing!

The score was done by Paul Haslinger.

Thanks for the info The Blind Dead. I think the song I'm thinking of is a Brazilian track though. Still searching.

As both a Brazilian and a horror movie fan, I have to say this was far from scary. Actually, I saw this film with my best friend the first time and we couldn't stop laughing. All the accents, songs and "Kiko" really cracked us up. I saw it for the second time alone and I found it so boring... It was good the first time though.

People in brazil boycotted the movie.
I find that extremely funny and horribly hypocritical. Nobody in Brazil seems to take issue with horror films that shed a negative light on the U.S. but the minute their country becomes the focus of the genre the grassroots form. Gimme a break.

"Well, me and Dark Comic FINALLY got around to seeing this one, and I felt a bit disappointed. After all the hype I expected something along the lines of a 'cross between Wolf Creek, Strangeland and Doctor Chopper' set in the jungles of Brazil'. Although it wasn't a 'bad' movie, it was much tamer than what I was anticipating. What gore that was there was good, but the long wait in between needed a bit more to keep my attention. It wasn't a waste of time, but I do hope the second one is better." :)

I rather enjoyed this film. The gore was nice, there were a few jumpy or tense moments, and I actually liked a couple of the good guys. What seems to turn me off a lot in modern films is my inability to like the people who are being hunted down. Most of the time, I'd just as soon wish them dead instead of hope for their survival.

I really, really, really liked Turista. It was different. Taken at a different location, other than Hollywood and Canada. The different language added more suspense,I think, which is needed in more horror movies; it's just not for the American audience persay. I thought it brought on a totally different light to what could be going on in another country, without our knowledge. Festered revenge: cool:evil:

I've been giving this some thought and I think I've figured out some of the things about this film that just fail to work.

Main problem is, that for all intents and purposes, it's really cliched. :x The story has been done numerous times before and Turistas fails to add anything interesting to the basic premise. :poo: The characters have no personalities and quickly get on your nerves (annoying best describes all of them). :puke: The horror elements seem to have been ignored for the most part and are not handled well. :x The entire underwater sequence seemed to drag on and on. Pointless best explains this film.

Funny Story...atleast I think so

My Friend: Hey Kemp have you seen Wolf Creek? I was thinking of getting it.

Kemper: Naw, I'm not really into those torture movies. I heard WolfCreek was pretty goo though.

My Friend: Cool...so what are you doing this weekend?

Kemper: I'm going to see the new Texas Chainsaw movie.
