So I come asking for help! I'm quite addicted to zombie flicks and I want to expand my zombie dvd collection! Now I would love to get some recommendations for what movies I should purchase. Please keep in mind I don't like the indie-home-video style flicks, though I made the mistake of picking up 3 of them.

Here's my list thus far:

DAWN OF THE DEAD (1979)
DAY OF THE DEAD (1985)
LAND OF THE DEAD (2005)
NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD (1990)

THE RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD PART II (1988)
SHAUN OF THE DEAD (2004)

THE LAST MAN ON EARTH (1964)
KING OF THE ZOMBIES (1941)
THE THIRSTY DEAD (1974)
MESSIAH OF EVIL (1973)
DEAD LIFE (2005) (very bad movie, except for the entertaining bj scene)
THE DEAD HATE THE LIVING (2000)
RISE OF THE UNDEAD (2005)
CHILDREN SHOULDN’T PLAY WITH DEAD THINGS (1972)
ZOMBIE DEATH HOUSE (1987)
ZOMBIE CHRONICLES (2001) *easily the worst movie I ever seen*

Your collection is looking like you have all the winners unless you're just going for every Zombie film you can find.

One i didn't see on your list that i have is BioZombie... Some people like it... I didn't like it at all, but i'm definitly willing to get it a second chance....

But i did see you have zombie 3 and 4... BioZombie is like Citizan Cane compared to those movies. IMO

I loved Children of the Living Dead! I thought it was a good movie to watch! Back to topic, I recomend Idle Hands. It's a funny movie with a lot of gore and laughs. It's hard to determine whether or not it's a zombie movie, but undead potheads are pretty cool to see!

Hey guys, I have a few quick questions about the following movies:

- Exhumed
- Feeding the Masses
- Dead Men Walking
- Dead Meat

I read numerous reviews on these movies, but none provided if they were filmed by video or by film? Can anyone offer some information on what format they were filmed?

After watching Dead Life and Zombie Chronicles, I'm so anti-video films that I don't want to get stuck with another one of those. :puke:

Dead Men Walking was shot on digital video and is quite good fun, much better than Dead Life.

I think Feeding the Masses was shot on film, but i can't be sure. That is an ok movie.

I think Dead Meat was also digital video.

Personally I really liked this one. It's low budget, the special effects aren't super, and the acting isn't great...but I still enjoyed it!

Thanks guys! For some reason, I just can't get into any films done on digital video...I'm just stubborn I guess. :(

But thanks for the heads up on Dead Meat and Dead Men Walking!!

I wasn't sure if people would count The Omega Man as a zombie flick, but I listed it just incase someone did. :)

I do have Shock Waves on my TO GET list, so that movie is not forgotten!

I would love to get my hands on that movie, but I'm in the States. The only versions I have found are all Region 2 DVDs.

Does anyone know where to find Region 1 DVD? Or did it even hit the States yet?

He's seen it.

I'll second Evilzombie20's recommendation for Zombie Honeymoon. It's a fantastic movie, well worth buying.

Zombie 90 is a German zombie film which was hilariously dubbed in the U.S., the lead character sounded like a Rocky Balboa reject and the woman's voices were done by men. It was released with Zombie Doom a.k.a Violent Shit III in the U.S. but I do believe Unearthed Films is planning to release it on it's own disc. There's also a home video version floating around with a god awful cover. Hopefully with the Unearthed release they will either leave it in German and subtitle it or redub it. Because there were some genuinely creepy scenes towards the end.

I strongly recommend you get Cemetery Man and Dead Alive! ...right now!!!

I also 2nd (or 3rd) the recommendatin for Zombie Honeymoon. Excellent film, though you should be aware that it's not the typical zombie film. There is no widespread epidemic or anything of the sort. It is, however, a must see/have for a zombie fan, such as yourself :)

Sounds awesomely bad!

It's a fun little party movie, dubbing and all.

"Hey it's Jimi Hendirix, man I've got all of your albums"

Check it out dubbed atleast one time and you'll never want to see it any other way.

I recommend Wild Zero!
It's based off of the japanese punk/rock and roll band, Guitar Wolf, with some aliens causing zombies. It's pretty funny and entertaining, and has a drinking game. :)
It's in japanese, so subtitles is a must.
