"This is a pure 'What If?' topic."
"What do you think would happen, if a Zombie bit a Vampire? Or, reverse that too, if a Vampire bit a Zombie? (Perticularly one who has been bit by a zombie, but hasn't turned.) They have showed us what they think would happen if a Werewolf and a Vampire bit each other, why not this?"
"I'm still tossing around the 'What If?' of this myself, but in the mean time I like to hear what you guys think."
(To The Mods: I hope this is the right place for this topic.)

"Interesting. Now was it a case of a Vampire biting a Zombie? Or a Zombie biting a Vampire?" ;-)

I think a vampire that got bit by a zombie would be like an ugly rotten looking thing that has the vampire powers, but the weaknesses affect it a lot worse. I'd say a zombie that's bitten by a vampire would just get the vampire weaknesses.

I think this has been addressed somewhere on the FVZA site.

"Is that here, in ATZ? If so, where, please? If not, where is it?"

The FVZA site. FVZA (http://www.fvza.org/) Regretably, I don't have the time right now to go scrounging through the entirety of his site to find the specific page.

"Don't sweat it, chewy. We can just have our own discussion here. I think its an interesting topic myself." :)

I don't think anything would happen to the zombie, given the zombies are already dead.
As for the vampire, I don't think much would happen that way either since the vampire is undead already.
Depending on the kind of zombie, I think it would be plausible that even though the vampire isn't affected, it might be able to pass on the zombie thing to the next person it bites.
I think a person bitten by a vampire carrying a zombie infection would more likely become a zombie since that tends to work faster than a vampire bite.
just my two cents...

"Very interesting thoughts, ZSW!"
 "I had a thought too. Wouldn't the Vampire Bite possibly have a 'healing' effect on the Zombie? It's my understanding that Vampires can't get infected, or they would catch every illness infecting all those the Vampire has bitten. So, it could be a twisted type of cure for Zombieism."

I think they'd prob be imune to each other but if they weren't we'd just have crap Vampires that staggered lol or slightly faster zombies with bigger teeth.

I'm not sure. Since Zombies aren't alive, they aren't pumping blood. If it cured zombieism, then they'd drop over dead since their hearts aren't pumping.
I think quite a bit depends on how we define vampire and how we define zombie...

"I got another thought. Lets say it's true, that a Vampire can't be zombiefied. Wouldn't that open up the possiblity that Vampire's blood might used as a poison for Zombies? I mean, that is if they don't mutate, like vampires and werewolves can."

if that happened wouldn't we be screwed?
I'd like to believe zombies biting vamps won't have an effect and I'm pretty certain that vamps biting zombies won't work as it can't pass anything on if the blood ain't flowing through the veins can it? Great now I'm confused... I gotta stop this thinking malarky... its giving me a headache :x :loon: :scare:

If we are talking from the newer biological mythos, then I am of the opinion that a vampire would likely get ill from any blood transfusion between itself and a zombie, but the zombie would remain reletively unchanged.
I say this because of the conditions that vampires and zombies seem to be in and the requirements for their survival. Zombies are dead, they just happen to be moving, it is because of this that they are immune to the effects of just about everything with the exeption of massive physical trauma. Vampires, on the other hand, are much more alive than their goulish counterparts. They seems to feel pain, become weak, and have many survival needs and some weaknesses. It seems as though they have a working circulatory and digestive system, and that is what I base their weakness to the zombies ailments on. Why that is a weakness can be seen from mazlionheart's post.

"I was thinking, could the results be a new type of creature?"

Being an undead also, a zombie would have no reason to bite a vampire. If a vamp would so desperate as to try and feed on a zombies congealed blood, it would probably make him sick. How would you liek to try and chug a glass of 2 week old spoiled milk? You might try it if you were starving, but you'd be puking afterwards.:puke:

Vampires have as many types as zombies have types, if not more. So, for me, it heavily depended upon what type of vampire and zombie exist within that "What If" question.
Just some ideas...
Vampires cannot be zombified because both are undead creatures.
Vampires would not want bad blood. I think fresh human blood is needed.
Vampires could potentially control zombies like they do their own minions.
Zombies would not see vampires as prey since vampires are undead.
But, I think the problem gets deeper.
Vampires would always, always war on zombies to prevent any and all zombie outbreaks. The only zombies that could be allowed would be the ghouls (day-walker slaves) that the vampire itself required to move the vampire and protect them in the daytime. A full-blown zombie outbreak would quickly deprive any vampires of their source of fresh blood from living humans.
Werewolves too have a wide assortment of types. I usually only like or accept the undead werewolf types in fiction in that genre. It has been more difficult to know what a werewolf would do by way of a zombie invasion. If they are not undead werewolves, then they become prey since they live. But, an undead werewolf would just be another undead thing to the zombies.
Does a werewolf require human blood and flesh to exist? A werewolf might want the zombie outbreak to come so that the vampire population gets annihilated; if you buy into the Vampire-Werewolf War scenario. Without humans, can the werewolves reproduce? If they are undead, then they need to bite or scratch a victim to carry on the curse and create more werewolves.
That looks like a very difficult undead triangle: zombies, vampires, and werewolves.
