Sorry if there is a topic on this already but I cant find it. So what is the best zombie movie of all time thats not in the dead franchise?(e.x:DOTD NOTLD ROLD) For me its hard to say and I would proably go with 28 days but there is too much controversy on the whole is it a zombie movie thing. Well that aside what is the best movie?

Outside of Romero's films, I'd have to say my favorite is Shaun of the Dead. A close second is Cemetary Man.

But if that falls in your dead franchise definition, then I'll say Cemetery Man.

I need a little bit more clarification as to what you define as the "Dead Franchise?"
Do you mean Romero's dead films? (Night of the Living Dead, Dawn of the Dead, Day ..., and Land ...)

If it is outside the Romero franchise then I'll have to go with Cemetery Man. If we're only talking Romero films then I'll take Night.

id have to say zombie flesh eaters but i guess if you live in italy then it is part of the dead series as a sequal to dawn of the dead so then id have to go with shaun of the dead but simon pegg said they set it in the romero universe so i guess ill have to end up on BRAIN DEAD aka dead alive

Outside the Romero franchise, I would pick either Zach Snyder's Dawn of the Dead or Shaun of the Dead.

Dawn of the Dead 78 is the 1st zombie movie I ever saw, and best zombie movie to me, my brothers took me to see it at a midnight show when I was 9 in 1978, been a zombie nut ever since. They dont have very many drive in movies anymore, but seeing a showing of DOTD 78 a few years later with a van full of stoned teenagers was great, seeing zombie movies on the big screen, its hard to say if its better than seeing it on dvd because the directors cuts, and extras make the movie better.

Dawn of the Dead 2004 is good but ZOMBIE is better IMO. This is excluding the Romero series. And anyone who likes the movies Zombie2-4 need some help... Sorry but i'd rather watch Oasis of the Zombie over that junk.

Everyone has different tastes and opinions, because you don't like it doesn't mean that the people who like it are insane.

The best zombie movie ever? I don't know, it changes everyday. The first real zombie movie I ever saw was Dawn'04 followed by Shaun. So these movies will always be special.

Very true, everyone has a right to their opinion but seriously who out there on this site can say they enjoyed zombie 2-4? I think in zombie 4 it stars Jeff Stryker who's a washed up gay porn star. I guess we'll have to let the polls answer this one.
